"Our car has been struck," one can be heard saying. "We're OK. They took off eastbound."

One suspect ran to a near by restaurant, the Desert Inn.

"It was scary," chef Jason Hershey said.

Hershey told 3News he came face-to-face with one of the suspects as he busted through the back door and into the kitchen holding a gun.

"I was cooking on the grill and some guy walks through the back door and says, 'Can I use somebody's phone?'," said Hershey. "He went in the storage room and came back out."

It's then that Hershey says the man ran from the restaurant, prior to law enforcement eventually capturing him.

The incident remains under investigation.
