42-year-old man in critical condition after being allegedly stabbed by brother in Canton

The suspect, Derek Edwards, is still at large. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Canton Police Detective Bureau at 330-489-3144.

CANTON, Ohio — Canton Police are searching for a suspect who is accused of stabbing his brother.

Canton Police say they responded to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital on Wednesday at around 9:41 p.m. after a man was dropped off with stab wounds and a laceration throughout his body. 

According to initial investigations, the vehicle that dropped off the victim was located in the 1700 block of Superior Avenue Northeast. Canton Police identified 46-year-old Derek Edwards, the victim's brother, as the suspect. 

The suspect has an active warrant issued for an attempt to commit murder and felonious assault. Edwards also has an active warrant issued for an unrelated incident of domestic violence and failing to appear.

The 42-year-old victim, Erek Bischel of Louisville, is currently in critical condition. 

At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
