CANTON, Ohio — One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Canton.
Canton police say they responded to a call for a shooting on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 8:19 p.m. in the area of 10th Street Northwest and High Avenue Northwest.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 19-year-old woman who had suffered a gunshot wound. While officers were still on scene, an 18-year-old man arrived at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest area.
Officials say that the victim, later identified as Rajhion Davis, died at the hospital.
The 19-year-old woman, who was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, is in stable condition, according to police.
"Investigators believe the injuries to both individuals occurred during the same incident. The circumstances of that incident are under investigation," said Canton police in a press release.
Officials noted that this is the second gun-related homicide of the year in Canton.
