"The leaking railcar contains approximately 150,425 pounds of butane," according to details from the Canton Fire Department. "The railcar is isolated in the yard and poses no immediate threat to the area."

"Hazmat contractors are actively transferring product to an empty car. The transfer process will take several hours. There was no environmental impact and no injuries," said Canton fire in a press release.

Fire officials say the railcar will be offloaded, which will take approximately six hours.

Below is a statement from the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Company:

"At approximately 1:00am this morning a privately owned rail car loaded with butane was found to be leaking in Gambrinus Yard, Canton, OH. The car arrived at W&LE’s Gambrinus Yard from the Marathon Petroleum facility immediately adjacent to Gambrinus Yard. The rail car was stationary when the leak was discovered and no derailment occurred. The Stark County hazmat team and the local fire department are on scene and monitoring the situation. A transload operation has been set up in Gambrinus Yard to transfer the butane to a new rail car. At this time W&LE expects the transload to be completed by early afternoon, and the entire scene to be cleared by early evening."
