OSHP officials say the crash happened on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at around 4:32 a.m. when a 2019 Honda Civic drove off the right side of County Road 98 in Wayne Township.

Troopers say the vehicle struck a fire hydrant and tree before coming to a stop. The driver of the Honda, Kindra Owens of Canton, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office.

OSHP investigators say Owens was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident.

OSHP was assisted at the crash scene by the Wayne Township Fire Department and the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office.
