CANTON, Ohio — Officials in Canton are investigating a two-vehicle accident that resulted in a car crashing into a house and a woman hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon. Members of the Canton Fire Department were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Arlington Avenue SW at around 3:10 p.m. When crews arrived, they found a car had struck the front porch, leading to a partial collapse of the above roof.
The unidentified woman driver of the car had to be extricated from her vehicle by firefighters. She was removed and taken to Aultman Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.
Canton fire officials say the house sustained heavy damage to the front porch, but was still able to be occupied.
