3News Now afternoon update with digital anchor Stephanie Haney on October 28, 2019.

CLEVELAND — On Monday's 3News Now with Stephanie Haney, the top headlines include the release of wkyc studios' "Amy Should Be 40" podcast, Christmas Ale hitting the shelves in stores and how LeBron James and thousands of others are being impacted by wildfires in California.

James, along with Natalie Morales and Maria Shriver each had to evacuate their Southern California homes as the Getty Fire near the 405 highway in Los Angeles continues to burn, after starting as a brush fire near the Getty Center.

Up North, the situation is even worse in Sonoma County where the Kincade Fire has already destroyed 96 buildings, according to CALFIRE.

Plus, 3News' Brandon Simmons stops by to share how political campaigns may be tracking us using bluetooth beacons on yard signs.

These beacons are able to potentially track and collect data from anyone who comes near them, sometimes not even requiring those being tracked to download an app.

It's also possible for people using this data to put a name to it, by using your smartphone's MAC address.

In international religious news, Pope Francis may have signaled that Catholic faith could soon allow married men into the priesthood and women to become deacons

The reason for this consideration is that the priesthood is down by 30 percent over the last 50 years, and it's not just in the Amazon where bishops are calling for the change.

Here in the United States, in 1970 there was one priest for every 1,400 parishioners, and today there is only one priest for every 4,200 parishioners.

3News' Lindsay Buckingham will more on what Clevelanders had to say about this potential change in What Matters Most at 6 P.M.

In tomorrow's 3News Now update, Stephanie will talk with 3News' Drew Horansky about the "Amy Should Be Forty" podcast, which covers everything we know to date about the disappearance and murder of Amy Mihaljevic, 30 years ago when she was just 10 years old.

The five-part series is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Stitcher and everywhere else you get your podcasts.
