CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit authority has announced that an additional employee has tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
The RTA confirmed the news on Friday morning.
The employee, who works in track maintenance at the company's rail service building, tested positive on Wednesday, September 9.
The employee's last day of work was Sunday, September 6 and became symptomatic the following day on Monday, September 7.
"Following our standard protocol, work areas, equipment and other areas of potential exposure were cleaned and disinfected," RTA officials said in a press release. "Additionally, other staff members who had been in contact with the employee were notified."
Of the 35 RTA employees who have tested positive for the virus thus far, 32 have made full recoveries and returned to work.
