CLEVELAND — A 33-year-old man was fatally shot at a gas station in Cleveland on Monday evening.
According to Cleveland Police, officers responded to 6206 Woodland for shots fired inside of the Valero gas station at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday night. Upon arrival, officers located the 33-year-old male victim on the ground inside of the store with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation has indicated that the victim was inside the store with a male suspect (Suspect 3) of an unknown age and other males when three other suspects (Suspects 1, 2 and 4) entered the store, with Suspect 1 carrying an AR-15. Suspect 1 and the victim became engaged in a physical altercation, resulting in the AR-15 being discharged and the victim being shot.
Suspect 3 and the victim fired shots, with Suspects 1 and 3 struck by gunfire. Suspect 2, a 25-year-old male, shot the victim while he was laying on the ground.
Suspects 1 and 2 fled in a vehicle before being stopped by Cleveland Clinic PD at 89 and Carnegie. Suspect 1, a 24-year-old male, was then transported to University Hospital for treatment for gunshot wounds to his legs and is currently confined at UH.
Suspect 3 suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to UH by private auto. Suspect 4 has not been located.
Suspects 2 and 3 have been booked at the County Jail. The incident remains under investigation, according to Cleveland Police.
