CLEVELAND — One person is dead following a fire on Cleveland's south side Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the blaze broke out in the attic of the home on Spring Road east of Broadale Road in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood. The name of the victim has not yet been confirmed, although she has been identified as a 42-year-old woman.
All other residents inside made it out safely. Additionally, no firefighters were injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and Cleveland Fire Chief Angelo Calvillo is on scene. The American Red Cross of Northern Ohio is assisting those who have been displaced by the incident.
