CLEVELAND — Another Cleveland staple is closing its doors for good amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this week, Specialty Restaurants Corporation --the owners of the 100th Bomb Group restaurant-- issued a statement announcing that the long-time restaurant and event space would close at the end of this year.
According to the release, the fixture adjacent to Cleveland Hopkins Airport will be sold at an auction due to a " declining demand for dining and special events venues."
The 100th Bomb Group Restaurant and event space has served Northeast Ohio for 37 years.
“We are deeply saddened that the 100th Bomb Group will be taking its last flight this year. We looked at every scenario to be able to continue serving our guests, but the current business environment and the pandemic have forced us to have to close our doors," said John Tallichet, President and CEO of Specialty Restaurants Corporation in a press release. " We want to thank our loyal guests, employees and community for their patronage and for sharing countless memories and special events with us,” the statement continued.
The 100th Bomb Group is currently open for special events and will be honoring all previously scheduled events through December 30 of this year. However, the dining room will remain closed through the end of the year.
