CLEVELAND — If you are looking for something to do this weekend and you enjoy art in all its forms, the 2021 Cleveland Art Experience is for you.
According to the event's website, it "is an experiential art weekend that combines community events and artistry from some of Northeast Ohio's most established and emerging artists."
3News Special Contributor Chris Webb spoke with the organizers behind the weekend. The co-founder and art director of the CLE Art Experience James Abrams said, for him, art is a way of life.
"I grew up drawing, I grew up painting, then I stopped. I got my degree, then I became a personal trainer. Two years ago, my father passed and when my father passed, I realized he was a man with many talents. And I said to myself, I didn't want to go out like that. I don't want to die on empty. So I picked up a brush so I can be an artist again," said Abrams.
Owner of the Cleveland Gallery and co-founder of the event, Matt Dennis, is hosting an event downtown at his gallery.
"Honestly, with this being a gallery in itself, we wanted to staple one of the nights in the heart of Downtown Cleveland. So we wanted to be able to bring art to this area even more," said Dennis.
The event, which begins on Friday, has multiple events and workshops through Sunday. Those events include a free workshop on the Evolution of Hip Hop, which is geared towards the entire family. Other events include Art&B, the EAT ART Rooftop Brunch, and more, and ticket prices for those begin at $39.99. You can get a weekend pass which gets you entry into all events and exhibits for $99.
Tickets are available at CleArtExperience.com.
