2024 Cleveland National Air Show brings estimated $13.1 million in economic impact

57% of all ticketed attendees were from outside of the Greater Cleveland area. 39% of those were from outside of Ohio.

CLEVELAND — The 2024 Cleveland National Air Show not only dazzled attendees with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience, but also infused millions into the area's economy.

According to Enigma Research Corporation, this year's show generated an estimated $13.1 million in economic impact to the Greater Cleveland area.

Enigma Research Corporation's study captured the monetary impact attributed by non-local attendees, participants and event operations.

They revealed more in depth details about their findings which can be seen below:

  • 57% of all ticketed attendees were from outside of the Greater Cleveland area. 39% of those were from outside of Ohio.
  • Supported the equivalent of 145 full-year jobs.
  • Generated an estimated $2.3 million in tax revenue.
  • Local residents spent an estimated $3.8 million related to the event.
  • Based their Air Show experience, 52% of non-local residents would return to the region for a vacation.

“In addition to Enigma’s research, the 2024 Air Show ticketing database included spectators from 50 U.S. States/Territories and 14 countries,” said Kim Dell, Air Show Executive Director.

These numbers come on the heels of the city of Cleveland's plans to redevelop the lakefront. The city of Cleveland recently commissioned a pair of studies that looked at what the economic impact of closing Burke Lakefront Airport would be.
