Cleveland police: 29-year-old man killed in shooting

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on Thursday.

The Cleveland Division of Police tells 3News that a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times at East 65th Street and Bessemer Avenue. 

Detectives from the Cleveland police homicide were on scene investigating.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has since identified the victim as Dawaun Drake. It is believed that he was killed when a red Chevy Malibu with tinted windows pulled up next to him, at which time, he was shot by the suspect(s) inside the vehicle.

On Thursday, May 18, Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County announced a possible $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for Drake's murder. Anonymous tips can be provided at (216) 252-7463 or www.25crime.com.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Cleveland police previously reported that the victim was 30 years old. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has since reported that the victim is 29 years old.
