CLEVELAND — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in Cleveland's Cudell neighborhood Sunday afternoon.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as 41-year-old Darius T. Wiliford, of Euclid. The incident occurred near the intersection of West 95th Street and South Marginal Drive around 12:20 p.m.
According to police, Wiliford was found inside a heavily damaged Nissan Pathfinder that had crashed into a pole, with the car displaying multiple bullet holes. Wiliford later died at MetroHealth Medical Center, and witnesses say both the Nissan and another vehicle were seen speeding along Interstate 90 and West 97th Street before hearing gunshots and seeing Wiliford's car crashing.
No suspects have been named at this time. Anyone with information is asked to immediately call the Cleveland Division of Police at (216) 623-5464 or Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County at (216) 252-7463, with a potential cash reward of up to $5,000 available.
