John Hay High School in Cleveland placed on lockdown due to police activity; 55-year-old man shot nearby

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating after a man was shot on Wednesday afternoon.

Cleveland Division of Police officials tells 3News that a 55-year-old man was shot in the lower jaw at East 105th Street and Carnegie Avenue. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District confirmed to 3News that John Hay High School was under lockdown due to police activity in the area.

Following the shooting, the victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic via private auto.
