CLEVELAND — A manhunt is underway after an inmate escaped the Cuyahoga County Jail.
The U.S. Marshals office confirms that 30-year-old Ferdinand Torres-Vargas escaped the jail on domestic violence charges "sometime Tuesday evening."
The jail was also placed on lockdown until further notice.
A $2,500 reward is being offered to anybody with information directly leading to his arrest.
"The public, family and friends of Torres-Vargas are reminded that providing assistance to him can result in criminal charges," the U.S. Marshals office said.
Court records show Torres-Vargas was due in court for arraignment Wednesday morning.
Back in 2015, Torres-Vargas was the focus of another escape, which happened when he was in the custody of corrections officers.
Anybody with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-492-6833 immediately. You can also text any tips using the keyword "WANTED" to TIP411. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
