Key Tower in Cleveland to host Fight for Air Climb

The event is raising funds for Ohioans who suffer from chronic lung disease. The money raised will go toward research, advocacy and programs in Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — The American Lung Association is hosting Fight for Air Climb in Cleveland this weekend.

The stair-climbing event is returning to Key Tower on Sunday, March 3. Participants ranging from first-time climbers to competitive climbing teams, to firefighters and first responders in full gear will climb stairs in order to raise money for Ohioans who suffer from chronic lung disease.

The money raised will go toward research, advocacy and programs in Cleveland. 

"Key Tower is the perfect setting for a day of fun, challenge and camaraderie," organizers said. 

Participants will stair climb 1,200 steps, 52 stories, in honor or memory of a loved one or to challenge themselves.

How to register

  • Online registration for the event has closed, but the day of registration will be available until 10 a.m. at a premium of $50 day of registration fee, plus a minimum of $100 fundraising.

  • 8:00 a.m. Event Starts
  • 10:30 a.m. After Party Starts
  • 11 a.m. Firefighter Challenge

Parking 

  • Parking is available for $5 at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower valet parking located at 1380 West Mall Drive, Cleveland 

As of Friday at 8:30 a.m., $102,416 has been raised. The American Lung Association is hoping to raise $143,000 by the end of the event.
