CLEVELAND — Firefighters are investigating after a blaze ripped through an apartment building in Cleveland's South Collinwood neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the fire occurred on Holmes Avenue north of St. Clair Avenue. One resident was injured and taken by ambulance to MetroHealth Medical Center, where they are currently in stable condition.
Multiple units were affected by the flames and a total of six people — five adults and one child — have been displaced. The incident caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damages, per authorities.
No firefighters were hurt in the blaze. Investigators say a space heater was to blame for the fire at the apartment building.
