The predicted water quality for Edgewater and Villa Angela Beach is poor for Saturday, July 2.

Here's how things are looking for today:

Edgewater Beach: The predicted water quality for Edgewater Beach for Saturday is poor due to Bacteria. The predicted E. coli concentration for Edgewater Beach is 131 MPN/100mL.

Villa Angela Beach: The predicted water quality for Villa Angela Beach for Saturday is poor due to Bacteria. The predicted E. coli concentration for Villa Angela Beach is 270 MPN/100mL.

According to the report, there is potentially harmful algae in the water:

"Poor water quality predictions due to potentially harmful algae indicate that cyanobacterial species capable of producing toxins were found to be present at the time of sample collection. Beach postings will be updated by Cleveland Metroparks based on toxin concentration results," said NEORSD.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) tests the water quality using a computer program to help predict bacteria in the water.

"The percent probability that a beach will exceed the set threshold is calculated by the Virtual Beach 3.0 software based on beach conditions measured during sample collection. When the percent probability generated by Virtual Beach 3.0 exceeds 50%, the true E. coli concentration is expected to exceed the Bathing Water Recreational Criteria of 235 MPN/100mL. Increasing percent probability indicates an increased likelihood of a true exceedance of the recreational criteria and vice versa," sats NEORSD officials.
