Officials confirm they have located the body of a Warrensville Heights women who had been missing since last summer.
Police in Cleveland say they were called to an apartment complex on the 4700 block of Warner Road around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, where a cleaner had discovered the remains. The home's previous tenant had apparently been evicted a week ago, and the employee found the while moving a pile of clothes on the balcony.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office took possession of the remains, and has since identified the woman as 19-year-old Audreona Barnes. The teen had not been seen since July 30, 2021, and authorities have yet to pinpoint the exact time or cause of her death.
Per protocol, the Cleveland Division of Police's homicide unit is investigating the matter. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to immediately call them at (216) 623-5464.
