1-year-old girl dies in Cleveland fire

The Cleveland Division of Fire also reports that a woman had leapt from the second floor porch.

CLEVELAND — A toddler has died following a house fire in Cleveland, which happened Thursday morning in the 13300 block of Marston Avenue.

In a post on X, which you can see below, the Cleveland Division of Fire says the child was found on the second floor in full arrest before being taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 1-year-old Chosen Marks Wright of Cleveland. 

Fire officials also report that a woman had leapt from the second-floor porch.

No firefighter injuries were reported. Cleveland fire officials say a second adult was taken to MetroHealth in stable condition. 

Damage from the fire has been estimated at $200,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
