CLEVELAND — Cleveland firefighters responded to an apartment fire on the city's East side.
According to a tweet from the Cleveland Fire Department, crews responded at around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday to a fire in the 3500 block of East 149th Street.
"Crews are simultaneously searching for victims in deadly smoke & battling flames," said Cleveland Fire officials in a tweet.
Cleveland Fire told 3News at the scene that the fire broke out on the second story of the apartment building, which was being renovated. All of the residents in the first story were evacuated safely.
In an update on Twitter, Cleveland Fire said there were no injuries and that the cause is under investigation.
