CLEVELAND — Two juveniles are in custody after leading Cleveland police on a chase following an alleged carjacking.
Cleveland police told 3News that the incident started on Tuesday at around 9:45 a.m. when officers responded to a call in the 1900 block of West 25th Street for a vehicle taken at gunpoint.
"Shortly after the vehicle was stolen, the Real Time Crime Center assisted the Third District in locating both the suspects and the vehicle. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued, ending when the suspects crashed the vehicle near E. 22nd Street and Cedar Avenue," a spokesperson for Cleveland police told 3News.
Following the crash, three suspects fled the scene on foot. Two juveniles were arrested by police shortly after.
Police also recovered a firearm from one of the suspects.
Additionally, an officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and is receiving treatment. Cleveland police say the officer is expected to be treated and released.
At this time, the carjacking remains under investigation.
