Reports indicate that the man is in good condition and was only hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
The virus is believed to have originated from a seafood market in the central city of Wuhan, China. Symptoms of the illness include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, according to CDC.
Since the discovery, the CDC has implemented public health screenings at airports in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.
The CDC advises that any one with plans to travel to Wuhans should avoid animals, animal markets, and products that come from animals like uncooked meat.
While severe illness and several deaths have been reported in China due to the virus, other patients have had milder illnesses. The CDC said it believes the risk of the Wuhan coronavirus to the American public at large remains low.
