Cleveland Division of Fire chief, captain injured in 2-vehicle crash

Cleveland Division of Fire Chief Anthony Luke and a captain are in stable condition following the Wednesday morning crash.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland Division of Fire Chief Anthony Luke and a captain are recovering after being injured in a crash on Wednesday morning.

Cleveland fire officials tell 3News that the two-vehicle crash happened at around 8:12 a.m. at the intersection of East 23rd Street and Superior Avenue. 

According to Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Division of Fire, both Luke and the captain were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center following the crash. The pair is in stable condition, and Luke is expected to return to work on Friday. 

The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene following the crash. 

No other information has been released at this time. 3News will continue to update this story as we learn more.
