As the trial for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin continues, Cleveland activists are coming together to call for justice in the death of George Floyd.
Supporters gathered on Tuesday at Market Square in Cleveland, led by Alfred Porter Jr. of Black on Black Crime Inc. as well as City Councilman Ernest Smith. The group plans to not only honor Floyd's memory and speak out for the man, but also protest several pending bills in Ohio that they believe would "penalize protesters on free speech issues."
Other groups behind the event include the Imperial Women Coalition, the Oppressed People's Nation, Refusfacism.org, Women's March Cleveland, and the Black Man's Army. 3News will stream the event in the player above, as well as on our Facebook and YouTube accounts.
