Cleveland fire responds to scene after finding dead male in 'hazardous' house

Individuals are being asked to avoid the area.

CLEVELAND — Crews are at the scene of a HAZMAT situation in Cleveland's St. Clair/Superior neighborhood.

Cleveland fire told 3News that they were initially called for a wellness check at a home on Addison Road.

Upon arriving at the home, crews found a deceased male in lab gear and signs of a clandestine lab. 

Cleveland fire worked with Cleveland police and the department's bomb squad to mitigate the situation. 

According to a city spokesperson, the bomb squad confirmed a hazardous substance when they inspected the apartment. The apartment was then cleared of any harmful substances and evidence. 

The body was turned over to the medical examiner to determine an identification and cause of death.
