Woman dies in early morning Cleveland fire

The Cleveland Fire Department says the incident happened at a home on East 66th Street.

CLEVELAND — One person has died following an early morning house fire on East 66th Street south of Superior Avenue in Cleveland.

According to a tweet from the Cleveland Fire Department, one woman was removed from the house and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she later died.

Cleveland fire officials say the situation, which happened around 4:38 a.m. Wednesday, was a mattress / bedroom fire.

No additional details were immediately available, but we will update this story if more information is released.
