CLEVELAND — There’s a big addition now at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo!
Rocket, a 7-year-old giraffe, is the zoo’s newest Masai giraffe. He comes to Cleveland from the Turtle Back Zoo in New Jersey at the recommendation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Standing at approximately 16 feet tall, Rocket is now the tallest giraffe at the Cleveland Zoo – and officials say he’s still growing.
“He joins female adult giraffes Jada and Jhasmin and guests can now visit him daily,” the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo posted on their Facebook page.
His arrival is perfect timing as June 21 is World Giraffe Day.
