Monopoly to release Cleveland edition: How you can help decide what's included on the game board

The game is expected to be on store shelves this October, but officials are asking for your help in choosing which Cleveland landmarks are included on the board.

CLEVELAND — There have been countless variations of Monopoly – and now the city of Cleveland is getting its own edition.

Officials say the Cleveland Monopoly board game “will feature locally themed squares” that pay tribute to the city’s iconic and much-loved landmarks along with customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards.

Which Cleveland landmarks do you think should be included on the game board? You can send your suggestions (which are due this Tuesday) to the official Cleveland Monopoly e-mail at cleveland@toptrumps.com.

"We want to ensure that the Cleveland Monopoly is an accurate portrayal of what locals love about their city, so we invite everyone to send us their recommendations of what they would like to see included in the Cleveland edition," said Tim Barney, representative from Top Trumps. "Anything and everything is up for consideration, from the Terminal Tower to the Westside Market to Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. We invite area residents to get involved and tell us about your favorite Cleveland locations that you'd like to see on the board."

The Cleveland Monopoly edition is expected to be on store shelves this October.

"Our community is rich with historical significance with many landmarks that help tell our story – from the shores of beautiful Lake Erie to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to the world-renowned Playhouse Square, which is celebrating its 102nd birthday this year," said Chris Ronanye, Cuyahoga County Executive. "Greater Clevelanders have a lot of pride in our region, so I am hopeful that many will make their voices heard for this fun game that celebrates our history."
