Cleveland officials confirmed city municipal court judge Ed Wade passed away Monday morning.
According to his biography posted on the city's website, Wade assumed the role in November 2013.
The lifelong Cleveland resident held degrees from Cuyahoga Community College, the University of Dayton, Howard University's School of Law.
“It is my belief that our justice system only works when the community believes that the justice system is fair to all who come before it," Wade said in the biography. "Because I have experience with both sides of the justice system, I believe I will be able to serve our community fairly and administer justice even-handedly."
