Update: Bodies found in Lake Erie identified as missing fishermen

Crews had been looking for Elce Malik-Bey and Raymond Lumpkin since Friday.

CLEVELAND — Crews have recovered the bodies of two men from the waters of Lake Erie during a search for two missing fishermen.

Cleveland police confirm officers from the Cleveland Metroparks found the two men dead on Monday. The victims have been identified as 44-year-old Elce Malik-Bey and 45-year-old Raymond Lumpkin.

The search for Malik-Bey and Lumpkin began Friday, when the pair reportedly left a family gathering to go fishing on the lake. After they did not return, loved ones contacted law enforcement, and the U.S. Coast Guard began looking around the East 55th Street Marina where the car the two had been driving was parked.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed both of their identities on Tuesday morning.
