CLEVELAND — An investigation is underway after a woman was struck and killed on Cleveland's West side.
Cleveland police tell 3News the accident happened in the 3700 block of West 130th Street at around 9 p.m. on Saturday.
A 41-year-old woman was struck by another vehicle after exiting her vehicle after hitting a parked vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has since identified the victim as Cassandra Fear.
Earlier this year, 3News featured Fear in a story about the closing of her business "Fear's Confections" in Lakewood.
3News spoke with a resident near the accident site who said that the safety of pedestrians and drivers has become a major concern with the reckless driving habits observed in the area.
Irene Garcia said that she's sees cars speeding and driving recklessly on a regular basis and hopes that more safety precautions are put in place for the future.
At this time, no arrests have been made and the crash remains under investigation.
