Cleveland police: 4 arrested in Columbus for alleged roles in September street takeovers

The operation also resulted in the seizure of vehicles, a firearm and other materials related to the ongoing investigation.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Police Street Takeover Task Force arrested four individuals in Columbus on Thursday. 

Police say the arrests were made during an operation that targeted the suspects for their alleged roles in the Cleveland street takeovers that happened on September 28 and 29.

Below is a list of the individuals from Columbus who were arrested and the charges they are facing: 

  • Sayvion Lewis, 22, charged with aggravated riot, tampering with evidence, disruption of public service, possession of criminal tools and failure to comply.
  • Cameron Parsley, 22, charged with aggravated riot, tampering with evidence, disruption of public service, possession of criminal tools and failure to comply.
  • William Whitted, 25, charged with aggravated riot, disruption of public service and possession of criminal tools.
  • Deshawn Crane, 28, charged with aggravated riot, disruption of public service, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence.

In addition to the arrests, authorities seized four vehicles, a firearm and other materials tied to the ongoing investigation.

"Since this investigation began, our primary objective has been to conduct a thorough investigation and make arrests that would build a strong case," said Cleveland Police Chief Annie Todd. "Today’s arrests highlight our commitment to this work and the effectiveness of that approach. We are grateful for the partnership with the U.S. Marshals, the Ohio State Patrol, the FBI, and the Columbus Police Department, who continue to support our mission to keep our streets safe."

The operation involved the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP), the FBI Cleveland Safe Streets Gang Task Force, FBI Cincinnati, the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), the Ohio State Highway Patrol Special Response Team (SRT), and the Columbus Police Organized Crime Gang Unit.
