CLEVELAND — The FBI's Cleveland office confirms it investigated a reported "suspicious package" Sunday night outside its Downtown headquarters.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as Cleveland police officers were also at the scene. The FBI would not confirm if any package existed, but Lakeside Avenue reopened around 10:45 p.m. after being shut down for a period of time "out of an abundance of caution."
"As always, the FBI encourages the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities that could represent a threat to public safety or the safety of law enforcement," a bureau spokesperson said in a statement.
No one was hurt during the incident.
