CLEVELAND — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old Cleveland man on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to the Glenville Grocery store in the 1000 block of E. 105th Street just before 6 p.m.
The victim, identified as 27-year-old Sherrell Mattis, was shot in the side and in the chest as he was standing in the parking lot. Police say he walked to E. 105th Street and Ostend Avenue, where he collapsed.
He was rushed to University Hospitals and was later pronounced dead.
A second victim suffered a minor abrasion to her face when a bullet struck her car as she drove.
Police have not made any arrests in the case. The suspect is described as being a 6-foot tall man of slim build in his late 20s.
