Cleveland police searching for missing 1-month-old boy allegedly taken by mother

The suspect was scheduled to attend a custody hearing with the child on Thursday, but never showed up.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police have issued an alert for a missing 1-month-old boy who was allegedly taken by his mother.

A social worker from Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services told officers 30-year-old Monique Johnson was supposed to show up with her son Harlem for a custody hearing, but failed to appear. Authorities later checked their Greenvale Road home, but did not locate them.

Harlem Johnson is described as being 20 inches tall and weighing 10 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and medium complexion. Police did not have a photo of him available.

Monique Johnson is described as being 5-foot-5 and weighing 148 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and also a medium complexion. The social worker told officials Johnson has been involved in several domestic disputes in the past and previously failed to take a court-ordered mental assessment.

Anyone with information regarding Monique or Harlem Johnson's whereabouts is asked to immediately call the Cleveland Division of Police at (216) 621-1234.
