Mayor Justin Bibb's 2024 summer safety plan was created after officials analyzed "multiple years of violent crime data" to develop a "solution-based operation to reduce stressors directly linked with criminal activity in the city of Cleveland.
"Operation Heat Wave" consists of heavy traffic enforcement alongside the Ohio State Highway Patrol and using intelligence and data-led decisions in order to stop violent crime."
The initiative is expected to conclude on Aug. 1.
