CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police confirms human remains discovered in a field last month belonged to a woman who had been missing since 2015.
Back on May 13, a worker discovered bones in the grass near the 3500 block of East 55th Street, and detectives subsequently handed them over to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation. Officers later found more remains in the same area, and they were subsequently determined to be of human origin.
Following DNA analysis, the medical examiner announced the bones were those of Kristy Thomas. The 32-year-old had been reported missing for the last seven years under unknown circumstances.
Officials have not yet determined just how or when Thomas may have died. Police are still looking into the matter.
