Cleveland police: Man, woman die after being found with gunshot wounds in vehicle

CLEVELAND — Police are investigating after two people, who were found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle, died in Cleveland. 

Cleveland police say they received a call for "unknown trouble" in the 16000 block of Euclid Beach Boulevard at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. 

Upon arriving, officers found a vehicle with two unresponsive people inside with gunshot wounds. 

Cleveland EMS transported both of the victims to the hospital, a man and a woman, where they were later pronounced dead. 

One of the victims has since been identified as 19-year-old Mikayla Janay Franklin, according to new details confirmed early Tuesday by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.

Reported as a suspected homicide by University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Decedent conveyed from 16001 Euclid Beach Blvd (inside vehicle) to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center on 10-14-24, where she was treated, expired, and pronounced on 10-14-24.

Cleveland police told 3News that officers believe the shooting happened in the 16100 block of Lakeshore Boulevard. 

At this time, Cleveland police's homicide unit is investigating the shooting.
