Cleveland State University has announced its first ever virtual commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020, President Harlan Sands said in a University newsletter.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 1 p.m. and will feature Ohio Lt. Governor John Husted as the commencement speaker.
"We and the entire CSU leadership team are working on a truly special experience that will honor each graduate as an individual, celebrate their years at CSU and provide a memorable, uplifting and fun event for family and friends," the newsletter read.
The university announced that degrees will still be conferred the day before, May 9, and that they will honor any students who still wish to "walk" at the earliest in-person commencement ceremony.
Students should receive more information on the upcoming ceremony in the next few days.
