CLEVELAND — For Kaitie Nickel, Cleveland has become a part of her.
"It's just a wonderful place to live," she tells 3News.
Want to know her commitment to our city? Well, just take a look at the tattoo on her right arm that reads "CLEVE."
"I just decided to kinda get it on a whim," she laughed. "We're serious. We're staying. We're Cleveland."
Permanent as the ink on her arm, but just a few years ago Cleveland was nowhere close to her radar.
"No. I didn't know anything about here," said Nickel.
That quickly changed. She met her husband, a native of the westside suburbs, at a summer camp in New York.
"I never stepped foot in Cleveland before we were dating," she said.
Long story short, this is where they decided to move and raise a family.
"Never in a million years did I think my job would be to be a hype woman for Cleveland," said Nickel.
The unofficial Cleveland hype woman is the full-time CEO of Cleveland Vibes, a digital production company that specializes in making content about the best the city has to offer.
She started Cleveland Vibes back in 2017 when she first moved here, documenting her experience on Instagram.
Since then, it has taken off as her full-time job and passion.
"It's a dream job," said Nickel.
In a short time, they have grown to more than 72,000 followers on Instagram alone.
Their specialty: All things Cleveland. On the day that we met up with the team led by Nickel, they were filming content to help promote the relaunch of Salmon Dave's restaurant in Rocky River.
"There's so many exciting new businesses opening up, so many cool stories and people just chasing their dreams. Cleveland's got so many opportunities we're just happy to be able to showcase them," said Nickel.
