According to court documents obtained by 3News, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled Deondre's death a homicide from a subdural hematoma, or bleeding inside the head usually caused by an injury. Authorities say Caldwell told officers she was the only one with her child all night, and she was arrested on Thursday.

Officials have not detailed the events that may have led up to Deondre's death. A records search showed no prior criminal history for Caldwell.

Caldwell is currently being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail. A court date has not been set.
