It’s the time of the year when some people need help the most, and one charity that continues to brighten the lives of children is Coats for Kids.
New coats were handed out to all students at Mary B. Martin School in Cleveland on Tuesday. The distribution of coats is possible thanks in part to Chick-fil-A, which has been supporting Coats for Kids through a fundraiser.
For the last 40 years, Coats for Kids has been helping to ensure that children in the Northeast Ohio don’t go cold during the brutal winter months.
Aside from Chick-fil-A making Tuesday’s donation possible, there are a number of different areas where donations are being accepted throughout the holiday season. Those interested in donating new or gently used winter coats can find collection bins at a variety of locations, including Crocker Park, Eton, Great Lakes Mall, Great Northern Mall, Legacy Village, Midway Mall and South Park Mall. Howard Hanna Real Estate offices and Petitti Garden Centers also have bins and are accepting donations of new and gently used winter coats.
3News has also participated in the Coats for Kids campaign with a collection barrel here at our studios on Lakeside Avenue.
This winter marks the 40th year that Coats for Kids has been helping school-aged children in need keep warm during the cold winter months.
