CLEVELAND — Over two dozen community members gathered Thursday afternoon to remember the victims of Imperial Avenue.
They held signs, marched, and said out loud the names of each woman whose life was cut short by convicted serial killer Anthony Sowell.
Sowell, 61, died Monday afternoon while in prison. A spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Corrections said he died from a terminal illness unrelated to COVID-19.
Sowell was sentenced to death for killing 11 women, but died while appealing his sentence. He hid the remains of those victims in and around his home on Imperial Avenue.
The women whose lives he cut short were:

- Diane Turner
- Janice Webb
