Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County offering $2,500 reward for information on alleged kidnapping of Lachelle Jordan

The Cleveland EMT went missing for almost a week last month before turning up at a convenience store barefoot and with a torn shirt.

CLEVELAND — It's been a month since Cleveland EMT Lachelle Jordan was found alive after going missing for almost a week. The 30-year-old said she escaped from being held captive, and now, officials are seeking more information on the case.

Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County is offering a $2,500 reward for any facts regarding "the identity of the kidnappers, location she was kept and/or sightings of the victim/kidnappers" during the seven days Jordan was unaccounted for. Thus far, authorities have not made any arrests and have named no suspects.

Jordan was previously reported missing on May 7 after last being seen the previous night outside her home on Fairport Avenue. Her father and other loved ones organized a city-wide search, and all were stunned five days later when Jordan walked into a Euclid-Green convenience store, crying for help while barefoot and wearing a torn shirt.

"She said she just ran away from the people that kidnapped her," an employee at Open Pantry told a 911 dispatcher about Jordan. "She said she got away from the people that kidnapped her and they tried to burn her alive."

According to her family, Jordan said she ran away from her kidnappers and was able to reach the store for assistance. She was hospitalized at the time, but Crime Stoppers now says "she has returned home to her family and friends," who previously told reporters "her spirits are up."

"I want to say I'm grateful," father Joseph Jordan said. "I'm grateful she had the strength and the willingness to fight to survive."

Prior to her disappearance, Jordan had been set to testify at a pretrial hearing for former coworker Michael Stennett, who is charged with rape. She had also told fellow EMTs she believed she was being stalked and harassed by an unknown individual.

Stennett, who had been out on bond, was arrested the week Jordan went missing and charged with violating a protection order sought by Jordan, but those charges have since been dismissed due to what prosecutors called "inconsistent evidence." Stennett still faces trial for alleged sexual assault, though he has not been named as a suspect in Jordan's disappearance.

Anyone with information regarding Lachelle Jordan's case is asked to immediately call Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County at (216) 252-7463. Tips can remain anonymous.
