CLEVELAND — A 31-year-old woman has died after an overnight shooting in Cleveland that left three others hurt.
Cleveland police say it was around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when officers responded to Eddy Road and St. Clair Avenue for a crash. As they were investigating the incident, a 27-year-old man drove his vehicle up to the officers "and advised them that he had been shot on East 123rd Street and that other people were also shot."
Additional units then responded to the scene on East 123rd Street where three other victims were located. All four shooting victims were taken to University Hospitals for treatment -- but one later died.
Police have not released many details about the victims, but the 31-year-old woman who died in the shooting has since been identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office as Shameka Lundy of Euclid.
Other victims hurt in the shooting include:
- Victim 2: 24-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg.
- Victim 3: 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.
- Victim 4: 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the hand.
"Preliminary information indicates that the victims were hanging out at 423 East 123rd Street and unknown persons in a dark-colored vehicle drove by and fired shots at the group, striking all four victims," according to Cleveland police. "No arrests have been made. Detectives continue to investigate."
