CLEVELAND — They gathered with fear and tears in their eyes, on the same street where Lachelle Jordan disappeared.
Her father, Joe, sent out a desperate appeal.
"For Lachelle to go missing, that is unusual, and we're going to find her. That's what we're going to do," he said. "As a father, I want to say if you have my daughter, give her back to me. That's all I want."
Lachelle went missing last Saturday, leaving her home at 6 p.m. to get something out of her car before vanishing. Her EMT employee badge still hung from her rearview mirror, and her purse and cellphone still in the house.
Jordan told family and friends she was being watched and stalked, and was set to testify in the trial of former co-worker Michael Stennett, who is accused of rape. He had been out on bond and Jordan filed for a protective order against him, and investigators arrested him Monday for violating that order. He has not been named as a suspect in her disappearance.
Now, at the same spot where the mother of two was last seen, Jordan's co-workers and friends follow her footsteps in hopes of finding a clue.
Door-to-door, they place fliers and talk to residents. Joe Jordan leads the way, begging for information regarding Lachelle's disappearance After all, it's what any father would do.
"They can do it anonymously," he said of those who may know what happened. "They don't have to say who they are; they just can give us the information."
Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County put out a $5,000 reward "for information in the event it is determined this involves criminal activity." Anyone with knowledge of Jordan's whereabouts should immediately call 911.
