14-year-old Alianna DeFreeze was brutally kidnapped and tortured while on her way to school in January 2017. Since her untimely death, her family has worked diligently to keep her legacy alive.
Now, In 2019, Alianna’s legacy will continue in the form of a book. Her father, Damon DeFreeze, told WKYC that a book in Alianna’s honor is in the works.
The book, titled “ #ALI The Life of an Angel” is a Damon DeFreeze story written by Ronnie Holman.
No further details about the book's production or release are being revealed at this time.
DeFreeze's killer, 44-year-old Christopher Whitaker, admitted to his crimes and was sentenced to death in March 2018.
In January, officials passed the Alianna Alert law requiring schools to call parents or guardians within two hours if a student is marked absent and parents have not previously notified the school.
